- NUTRITION AND NUTRACEUTICALS IN OBESITY AND DIABETES MELLITUS: Role of diet, vitamins, nutraceuticals, and adiposity in the development of chronic micro- and macrovascular complications, with particular focus on the pathogenesis of retinopathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and the influence of epigenetics and nutrient intake.

- DIABETES AND CANCER: Nutritional and pharmacological management of patients with diabetes and cancer; chronic micro- and macrovascular complications; biological mechanisms of carcinogenesis in diabetic and obese patients; metabolic and vascular complications in individuals cured of childhood-onset cancer and prevention strategies through healthy nutrition and adapted physical activity.

- OBESITY AND TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS: Nutritional and pharmacological therapy with innovative agents; chronic micro- and macrovascular complications.

- DIABETES AND OBESITY IN PREGNANCY (pre-existing and gestational): Role of nutraceuticals in the management of diabetes during pregnancy (particularly gestational diabetes); nutritional therapy and carbohydrate counting; placental pathophysiology; diagnostic criteria and genetic and autoimmune variants of gestational diabetes; technology applied to glucose monitoring and insulin therapy; maternal and fetal/neonatal complications; predictive factors for diabetes after pregnancies complicated by gestational diabetes.
