Learning Objectives

  • DIETOTHERAPY IN DIFFERENT STAGES OF LIFE
    • increase students’ knowledge about the characteristics of the different stages of life and their nutritional needs
    • Learn notions of dietetics (in individuals and in the community) and of diet therapy evidence based
    • Use the knowledge acquired to plan good strategies in each situation and reach the goals
    • Develop personal attitudes for a good therapeutic relationship
  • ENDOCRINOLOGY

    The course aims to deepen the knowledge on the pathophysiological mechanisms of the main endocrine-metabolic diseases correlated to pregnancy and in some clinical conditions of adulthood and the role of diet in their prevention and treatment.

    • Introduction to the characteristics and peculiarities of the different stages of life and their nutritional needs
    • Nutrition in a healthy child
    • Nutrition in the overweight AND obese child
    • Nutrition in the child with diabetes
    • Nutrition in adolescents
    • Nutrition in healthy adult
    • Nutrition in women: in fertile age, in pregnancy and lactation and in menopause
    • Nutrition in the elderly
    • Nutrition and celiac disease
    • Carbohydrate Counting
  • ENDOCRINOLOGY

    - Pathophysiology of thyroid and iodine intake

    - Diabetes and pregnancy

    - Menopause

    - Calcium metabolism and osteoporosis

    - Pathophysiology of ovarian diseases and Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
